Master of Information and Data Science Students Join I School Tailgate

At a recent tailgate for the Cal/Colorado football game hosted at the University of California, Berkeley campus, the School of Information welcomed some special visitors: Master of Information and Data Science (MIDS) students. A group of MIDS students coordinated a trip to Berkeley to cheer on the Golden Bears in late September, joining on-campus Master of Information Management Studies (MIMS) students, alumni, and even the I School’s Dean, AnnaLee Saxenian.

The MIDS students, who hailed from as far away as Arizona, planned a special trip to the game and to the school-hosted tailgate party. Held in front of the I School in the shadow of the Campanile, the event brought together students from across the I School’s degree programs as well as alumni. Dean Saxenian attended and enjoyed chatting with MIDS and MIMS students alike. The event provided the perfect opportunity for the online MIDS students to mingle not only with their classmates but with the rest of the I School community, and to cheer on the Golden Bears — who then went on to win in double overtime against the Colorado Buffaloes!

Want to join in on future fun? There’s still time to register for our future cohorts — RSVP to an upcoming information session or request more information to find out if the Master of Information and Data Science degree is right for you.
